The Papua New Guinea Canoeing Association Inc (PNGCA) successfully concluded its National Sprints last weekend, highlighted by the presentation of awards for both Junior and Senior paddlers following an exciting series of sprint races.


The event brought together committed athletes and clubs, reflecting the continued growth and development of canoeing in Papua New Guinea. Competitors demonstrated strong skill, discipline, and sportsmanship throughout the sprint program, making the championships a memorable occasion for athletes, officials, and supporters alike.


PNGCA extends its sincere appreciation to all participating clubs who contributed to the success of the National Sprints, including:

  • Kempa Leva Club

  • Konedobu Kanu Klub (3K)

  • Port Moresby Outrigger Canoe Club


The presence of both junior and senior paddlers showcased the depth of talent within the sport and highlighted PNGCA’s commitment to nurturing young athletes while supporting elite performance pathways.


The awards presentation marked an important moment of recognition, celebrating the efforts, achievements, and dedication of athletes across all divisions. Families, coaches, and club representatives joined in acknowledging the hard work put in by paddlers leading up to and during the championships.


PNGCA also acknowledges and thanks its major sponsor, Pacific Towering Company, for their valuable support. Their contribution played a key role in the successful delivery of the National Sprints and continues to support the development of canoeing in Papua New Guinea.
